Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing passes away at the age of 75.

The founder of the Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing has passed away at the age of 75. There has been no official response on the cause of death but he was recently hospitalized after a fall but was reported as in stable condition.

Malaysian Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin expressed his condolences to the family of Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing. In a message posted on Facebook, the Malaysian Prime Minister stated that his passing is a “massive loss to the world of creative and innovative education”.

Malaysian prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin described Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing as a visionary and great mentor in the field of innovative education at even a global level.

Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing was an  artist, designer, author, entrepreneur, educationist and philanthropist who founded the Limkokwing Univeristy of Creative Technology back in 1991. Since then the Univeristy has expanded to 9 campuses around the world.

Body of a 13 year old boy has been found in Hulhumale district of the capital city.

According to the Police Media Official, Police received a report in relation to an alleged case of abduction of a 13-year old boy, last Sunday. And amid further investigation of the case, police discovered the dead body of the child in the early hours of Tuesday, said Police.

The Police Media Official informed that two suspects; a 17 year old male and a 27 year old male have been apprehended in relation to the case.

The case is currently being investigated as a serious case said Police.

President Solih departs on unofficial trip to Dubai.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has departed on an unofficial two-day trip to Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) this Monday to attend the funeral of his younger brother, Ahmed Mohamed Solih, who passed away, early Monday morning.

According to the press release published in the President’s Office website, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will be returning to the Maldives this Wednesday.

54 year-old Ahmed Mohamed Solih was being treated for cancer in Dubai, according to local news sources.
